Community involvement is the power to bring positive, measurable change to both the communities in which you operate and to your business. Participation can have many benefits. Whether you want to be part of a group, help others achieve something, or just be an active spectator, there are many ways to get involved.

The MADCA meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 6.30pm for 7pm at the Mapleton Bowls Club in Post Office Road, Mapleton. Our monthly meetings provide a forum for ideas and issues influencing our community and we endeavour to provide timely and accurate updates on these issues to our members and government. Mapleton and District is part of the Sunshine Coast Regional Council Division 10, and our local Councillor, Mr David Law, attends our meetings. He provides community updates and takes any questions our members may have.

Membership

The MADCA always welcomes new members. Membership of the MADCA is free. If want to become a member, please complete the membership application and either bring it with you to a meeting, email or post it. All our contact details are on the 'Contacts' page on this website.

The benefits of membershp include:

  1. find out what is happening in our local community
  2. question our local councilor in a public forum.
  3. strength of combined local voices, and
  4. take part in meaningful projects that effect our local community.

Volunteers

Volunteering reflects our values – what we care about, our vision for our community, our notion of justice, and our sense of responsibility for the planet and all those with whom we share it. Volunteering also generates value for the MADCA, our neighbourhoods, businesses and community. We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:

  1. The Old School House (TOSH) garden project
